Malbec through a Loire lens here to remind us, it takes a village, a community, a family. Laurent’s wines are emotive, spirited & created with a tireless work ethic and hope for the future. For this vintage, Laurent lost nearly his whole harvest to extreme weather and had to call on friends near and far to put. . .

Malbec through a Loire lens here to remind us, it takes a village, a community, a family. Laurent’s wines are emotive, spirited & created with a tireless work ethic and hope for the future. For this vintage, Laurent lost nearly his whole harvest to extreme weather and had to call on friends near and far to put together a vintage, making this is a fully négoce (purchased fruit) offering! The cavernous malbec (80%), aka côt, and wistful gamay (20% ) see one week of maceration, half whole cluster, half destemmed, layered together in a trifle-like fashion. The wine is then aged one year between sandstone amphora (a more recently introduced practice with some smaller earthen vessels made by a local pal!) and 500L old oak barrels for balanced roundness. Grape popsicle, mineral robes, a wisp of smoke, scraggly plum, wild blueberry handful, violet petals & herb garland. Enjoy with those who remember your birthday without fail.
