A big, BEAUTIFUL bottle. Envinate, which means ‘Wine Yourself!’ is a Spanish winemaking collaborative founded by four friends hailing from four different regions of Spain. These highly individualistic wines are made with the goal of expressing the distinctive terroirs of Spain and its Atlantic coastline. This Very Volcanic red is sourced from two very old parcels of braided LN vines, which are then fermented separately & aged in old French oak, undergoing malolactic fermentation for 11 months. Unfined & unfiltered upon bottling, this wine is smoky & dangerous. If it were a person it would be a sleek & sexy art heist puller-offer, the kind of person who never quit smoking but makes it look cool and you’re like “Should I start smoking at age 35 so I can be this cool?” (no). Fruit is boisterous bright red: crunchy cranberry, crushed rock, low-key bacon. Earthy like an herb garden post-thunderstorm. Pinot Noir but if it listened to punk rock instead of classical.
