A lifted, dirty and deliriously drinkable, zero-zero grenache. Jean-Louis Pinto has operated his negociant project since 2010. Based near Limoux, he sources organic and biodynamically tended grapes from unique plots, while working out of a small cellar beneath his family home. There is no set style applied year-to-year, but you are guaranteed to be surprised, delighted & (like we are) infatuated vintage after vintage. ‘Tracheo’ is made of old vine grenache from schist soils in the commune of Cabrerolles, which is looked after by a sought after grower who many other natural producers purchase fruit from. The grapes spent 21 days whole cluster macerating to capture tannins and tenacity, then 10 months aging in sandstone amphora. Raspberry RUSH, dusty herbs and spices, warm n’ sweaty skin, salty saucisson, DIRT and chalk tannins & then a vanilla blackberry soda ending. Enjoy with roasted duck and beets.
