This is the first vintage available in Ontario of Florence + June from Canadian based winemaker Mackenzie Brisbois. Mackenzie spends half the year making wine at PEC gem Trail Estate and the other half of the year living in South Africa, where her husband is from, visiting family and making a teeny amount of stunning wine in another hemisphere. Hand harvested from the Morelig Vineyard at the base of Paardeberg Mountain, 70% of the grape clusters were carbonically macerated, while the remaining 30% were hand destemmed by full moon, then pressed after eight days and put into neutral French oak barrels for six months of ageing. Violets, black plum, morning mocha, blueberry bushes, black cherry & pepper grinder. Pour alongside rich peppercorn sauces and charred mains. Only 60 cases made!!!
