Gaspereau Valley, Nova Scotia

It doesn’t happen all that often, the stars align, the waves stand still & the wine goddex smiles down upon us. The 2016 growing season was an anomaly and gift that bestowed near perfect grape growing conditions at east coast star winery Benjamin Bridge. They’ve been ageing this oddity since then, released from the vaults for our BB x GW collab celebrating the adventurous and experimental side of Benjamin Bridge, a family run winery nestled in Gaspereau Valley. There you find a unique microclimate a stone’s throw from the Bay of Fundy, producing the world’s largest tides and a very special place to grow wine. Macerated on its skins for three months, then moved to neutral french oak barrels for six months, before finally being laid to rest for an additional SEVEN years of bottle conditioning (in other words, this wine has sent a lot of time working on itself, and we couldn’t be more proud of it). Hazy pale orange with a golden tinge, erupting marmalade volcano, hands after zesting an orange, iron door knocker, apricot pits, pine cone and branch, menthol chew & subtle tannins dancing round the brisk and bracing acidity.
