A real prize (especially for the price!) of a Muscadet, not to be missed! Positioned between the tepid Loire River and the cool, crooning Atlantic, the Muscadet Sèvre et Maine region is known exclusively for their expressions of the salty, expressive grape melon de bourgogne. Domaine du Haut Planty has been certified organic since 2015, with 10 out of 20 of their silty, sandy hectares of the estate under vine. Rested on lees for 12-16 months, ‘Gwin Evan’ is a retreat from the typically mass-produced lean and uninspired melons, also being made without sulphur (a RARITY in Muscadet!) allowing it to live and breathe. Minute effervescence, a balance of cantaloupe nectar roundness with underripe, melon skin leanness, extremely chalky, snow melting into the riverbed, peach flowers & oat straw tea. Enjoy with the fattest, briniest BC oysters you can find.
