A clever, crunchy, unclassified, (minimal) skin-contact. Dedicated farmers Anders and Anne grow & ferment grapes between Alsace and Ardèche with a heartstring-pulling level of charm & splendour. ‘Hold me Closer’ sees four days of maceration for the green, citric sauvignon blanc (45%) & plushy, unyielding chardonnay (40%), then a douse of waxy, curd-y marsanne from 2021 (15%) amps up texture. FUN FACT! This was their first time using recently acquired, old wooden foudre from Alsace, #tastethetime! Their signature brand of well-incorporated VA, cool-climate acidity, a scratchy, dry cookie texture, sunflower + shells + seeds, warm apple tart, vanilla bean pod roundness & stippling minerality. Enjoy with snow crab somen while contemplating this recent quote by Pamela Anderson on running through Central Park, “…safety in the dark woods where the fairy goes to lose her mind and find her soul”.
