A crisp and rosy Catalonian rosé for snack time. Encircled by coastal mountain ranges, the Foraster family has tended vines grown on the ancient, rocky soils of this high-altitude locale of Sierra de Miramar for over a century and a half! In 1998, Josep Foraster decided to stop selling their fruit to the bulk market and established an estate cellar. Today, they farm 29 hectares of organic, and increasingly biodynamically treated vines and work with very low-intervention practices in the cellar. ‘Petita Julieta Rosat’ is made from the regional grape trepat, a pinot noire-esque red primarily grown in the Conca de Barberà region of Spain, and all too often used exclusively as a blending grape. Here it is showcased in all its glory, with a soaring acidity and delicate aromatics made clearer from its home at 500-600 metres above sea level. Fresh watermelon and cantaloupe slices, strawberry juice, rose petals, lemon popsicle, bite of herbs, pepper & a mineral misting. Pour alongside anything wrapped in ham.
