La Senda means “the path”, a nod to the famed Camino de Santiago pilgrimage that passes through the natural landscape. Right at the Portuguese border, Bierzo is one of Spain’s most prized regions, with mineral-dense soils, higher-altitudes and a big-coastal influence that makes it perfect for textured whites and fresh reds. With over 90 days macerating on its skins, it would be easy to assume this orange would be dense and super savoury, interesting, yes, but drinkable, less so. Interestingly, this wine is anything but, complex, but shockingly crushable. Diego finds that longer time on the skins creates more aromatic development without weight. Like bottled springtime dew, grassy, tropical fruit and salted herbs with all the high-energy tones of Diego’s musical inspirations.
