Winemaker Bill Hooper was bitten by the riesling bug so hard that he moved to Germany, learned German, and enrolled in Wine and Agriculture school in the Pfalz winegrowing region to learn exactly how to do it himself. FUN FACT! Upon graduating from the wine program, he became only the second American in 115 years to do so! Lobenstein is a small family vineyard in the Yamhill-Carlton AVA of Oregon's Willamette Valley. A biodynamically tended cool site that offers an extended growing season – creating a gradual ripening period perfect for developing nuance and definition of the coveted riesling grapes. Candied lemon sitting in the lime-light, pensive minerality, sour peach acidity, fallen apricots, granny smith peels & sweet basil. Try with pulled pork sliders & a bonnet.
