Gamay Noir made in a Nouveau (early picked, light maceration, short maturation) style, but with a rustic Italian vibe. Bright, crunchy fruit, high acidity, nicely tart, spicy, floral, with a slight spritz on the finish. Bright, crunchy fruit, high acidity, nicely tart, spicy, floral, with a slight spritz on the finish. This is perhaps one of Anton Van Klopper’s more adventurous wines of the vintage while maintaining a signature Lucy Margaux personality that one might call hyperactive. As the more cult natural wine producer in South Australia, Van Klopper’s production is TINY, intuitive, unexpected and consistently inconsistent - we’ve been waiting years for these to arrive! This Gamay is everything you want in a light, juicy red with all that ripe ripe red berry fruit, mouthwatering rhubarb and just a whiff of stoner/surfer/hippie vibes. Serve this one chilled and watch it disappear!
