An aromatic & frankly hyperactive German white blend for the natty wine fiends and friends! Germany makes some incredible classic wines – as well as the cloyingly sweet bottles we have ALL had a tryst with – but there’s a growing number of young producers shaking things up! One of our faves is the young Marto Wörner, who burst on the scene after learning with natural wine royalty Gut Oggau and Matassa. His organic and non-interventionist wines come from the shoulder padded hills and drop-waisted valleys of grassy Rheinhessen. In this new concoction that’s seeing it’s debut in Ontario, he’s direct-pressed most of what he grows – riesling, silvaner, chardonnay, pinot blanc & pinot noir – into a field-blend inspired wine showcasing the entirety of his land in Flonheim. Much like a cubist portrait, it gives every angle in one still medium! Open a bottle and get sky-high acidity, cucamelon (also called Mexican sour gherkin, which feels apt), cross-bred stone fruits like apriums, velvety white peach, dixieland jazz & I and the Village by Marc Chagall. Pair with some buttery baked artichoke & radicchio risotto and get those acrylic paints out of storage for your own cubist moment!
