Vermentino, Corsica, France
A drizzled daydream from the stunning Mediterranean island of Corsica, this Vermentino is lively & anything but passé. After studying law in Paris, soon-to-be-winemaker, Nicolas heard a siren call to return back to his roots and began working some land. Organic Vermentino harvested from two vineyard sites, both on clay-limestone soils, gives a crisp kick of depth and minerality to this lighter-bodied white wine. Fermented in stainless steel tanks and left undisturbed for one year prior to bottling to maintain a fresh and delicate fragrance. You will likely enjoy Vermentino if you are a fan of classic French Sauvignon Blanc, think pear skin, daffodil, stream of lemon pith, green almond & effortless buoyancy with a strong n’ stony base. Try pouring alongside Vietnamese dishes like Ca Kho To (Caramelized Fish in Clay Pot) and watching Planet Earth.
