A meticulous and mineral Loire white blend for spoiling those you hold dearest! Domaine Tessier was established in 1961, when Roger Tessier began planting vines next to his asparagus fields, and has remained in the family ever since. Today Marie and Simon Tessier look after the domaine, taking over in 2020 after Simon apprenticed for his famous neighbour François Chidaine and attended the Amboise viticulture school. The soils here are predominantly limestone with marine deposits and silica-clay that help produce the stunningly mineral wines we expect and adore. Made from the oldest vines on the domaine, ‘Charbonnerie’ is a blend of sauvignon blanc (70%), bringing greenness and citric tartness, and mineral, tree-fruity chardonnay (30%). The grapes were direct-pressed and underwent malolactic fermentation and ageing in stainless steel to culminate in a pure and pretty-as-can-be expression. Green pear, linden blossoms, slick slate, salty mineral OOMPH, green almond, white snowsweet apple & parsley. Enjoy alongside tender white fish with lemon sauce.
