Lambrusco Grasparossa, Lambrusco Sorbara & Lambrusco Uva Tosca, Emilia-Romagna, Italy

A mineral, berried and BRIGHT lambrusco triptych. From the hillside village of Castelvetro di Modena, south of Modena in the Emilia-Romagna region, winemaker Max Brondolo is busy keeping several regional grape varieties alive from just 6.5 hectares of organic and biodynamically-tended vines – PLUS five adjacent hectares of forests, lakes and flowery glens! FUN FACT! “Cattabrega" refers to the noisy person in a group of friends, and this cutie grape grasparossa is just that! Their bubble technique goes like this: after the first fermentation is complete, the wines are blended and bottled with must from the previous vintage to kickstart a second fermentation, and then left un-disgorged, meaning the yeasts remain in suspension inside the bottle for a frothy, gently hued and cloudy appearance. The blend of deep, dark lambrusco grasparossa, floral, red berried lambrusco di sorbara, and tart, mineral uva tosca come together as an undeniably complimentary trio. Underripe serviceberries, fresh garden herbs, raspberry fruit leathers, rows and rows of roses, grapefruit juice, pink peppercorn, stone roll & a saline snap. Enjoy with the best Cantabrian anchovies money can buy, fed to you across a picnic table.
