A bustling, bright and salty Piedmont white for laying in the sun. Cinzia and Fausto Cellario are third generation winemakers, fermenting away in the western outskirts of the Langhe. They choose to exclusively work with organic farming practices and regional Piemontese grape varieties, while fiercely defending the local winemaking traditions they grew up with. ‘Lafrea’ is made from favorita, a local clone of vermentino, which was hand-harvested, destemmed and pressed into stainless steel for a few months of R&R before being bottled. Pear and pineapple on a stick, spring blossoms, kiwi dressed in citrus, honeydew candies, peach pit, fennel, walnut, grass & salty mineral licks that make you salivate. Pour alongside grilled squid dishes, fresh salads and the most vitamin D you can get.
