A bursting, structured and unique Catalonian garnacha that is so delicious and simply unbeatable for bang for buck. Also this label is basically perfect, but back to the wine! Founded in 1932, Sindicat La Figuera is a Catalonian cooperative in a small village in the Montsant Mountains. Located in the highest point of the region, their goblet trained garnacha vines are planted in chalky soils and aged 30 to 80-years-old. The grapes were hand-harvested, destemmed and fermented in large subterranean concrete vats, where they spent nine months aging on smoothing and soothing fine lees. The lightness of citrus and flowers are a gift from the altitude, cherry red sports cars, underripe blackberry and wild strawberry, a fine sieve of tannins & unyielding chalky minerality. Enjoy with sage rubbed chicken skewers and sweet potato fries.
