An aromatic and textural Niagara viognier for exploring your own backyard.  Now in its third vintage, Somewhere was founded to make owner Amanda Schroeder's local wine dreams come true! Raised around her mom’s Alberta wine shop instilled a vinous love from a young age, and after working in the not-for-profit world she decided to follow her dream of creating the wines she felt were missing in the Ontario drink-scape. FUN FACT! This is her first year working with viognier! Grown 350-500 feet above sea level on St. Davids Bench in the Niagara Peninsula, this is one of the higher elevation sub-appellations in Niagara and gathers the cooling Lake Ontario breezes ideal for grape growing. The grapes were soaked overnight on skins to capture florality and some texture, fermented in stainless steel and neutral french oak, then aged for six months before being bottled unfined, unfiltered, and with lees. A touch of tannins, honeysuckle, white roses, opening an Haribo packet, lake-side minerality, green pear, hint of musky spice, candied lemon wheel & slightly underripe nectarine. Pour while on camping trips to Tobermory, Killarney Provincial Park or Rockwood Conservation Area.
