A refreshing and fragrant Austrian rosé for classy brunching. After studying wine in Vienna and Montpellier, and working in the southern France, Erwin Tinhof returned home to farm the 14 hectares of vineyards that have been tended by his family for 11 generations! Situated on the slopes of the Leitha Mountains in the city of Eisenstadt, this organically farmed blaufränkisch came from 36-51-year-old vines in calcareous clay and gravel soils. The wine was fermented in steel to maintain freshness and remained there on lees before bottling to bring some weight. FUN FACT! From winemaker Erwin, “In the blaufänkisch grape one recognizes the hand of the master. This grape is a real diva in the vineyards: it buds very early in the year, but then ripens very late. As a farmer, you will therefore have to spend quite a bit of time in the vineyards; need to do a lot of pruning and a lot of prayers to stay free from diseases”, #DIVA!
