A bubbly, low-alc snapshot from a crossing of plums, apples and grapes in the face of a challenging year! Born and raised on his family’s vineyard, Rajen Toor launched Ursa Major in 2016, adding his fresh voice to the blooming scene of low intervention winemakers in British Columbia’s Okanagan Valley. A note from Raj on this particularly formidable vintage, “In a year where there was no fruit available in the Okanagan, we somehow managed to create a beverage that completely encompasses what this valley and this province is.” The Process! ‘Off With My Head’ is an entirely organic composition of freshly pressed pomace from aromatic gewurztraminer and BC’s fave hybrid red, marechel foch, sweet golden delicious apples that were mashed then basket pressed (with the juice left on pinot noir skins to ferment and pick up tannin and colour), and finally empress plums which were aged for 18 months in neutral oak. A fruit-crazed stunner, with yellow plum, yuzu peel, pomelo juice, raspberry Snapple iced tea, boysenberry patch & twinkling bubbles.
