Croci is a small, beloved estate in the westernmost sub-zone of Emilia-Romagna –here Massimiano Croci tends 8.5 hectares of steep vines in the foothills of the Val Arda full of limestone-rich ancient soils (that were once the sea floor!) and red clay. Aromatic Malvasia takes a long cold soak on a hot summer day and emerges the colour of flaming orange cheetos with bursting aromas of fruits and flowers on quite the acid trip. Lychee, dried mango, rotting peaches (but like good?) and an old lady’s bag (also good?) combine in this intense orange that is a tangy and structured aromatic prize. Share with open minded friends for great times.
