They make wine in Texas?! And it’s GOOD?! Someone pinch us, we must be dreamin’! Winemakers Ross McLauchlan, Cooper Anderson & Matt Smith started The Austin Winery in a tiny warehouse in 2013. Thereby establishing the first full production winery inside Austin city limits. The winemaking philosophy is simple: partner with small, family-owned vineyards around Texas that take a holistic view on farming, using non-exploitative, organic & regenerative practices that benefit the entire local ecosystem and make tasty, tasty juice. This 100% Vermentino from the Texas high plains sees five days of skin contact, which brings this wine a light tannin, peachy colour & under-steeped tea leaf flavour – tropical fruit salad and orange blossoms transport you to another place and time entirely. A crowd-pleaser no matter the weather or food it is served with. P.S. Check out the label for a special poem from their friend, Nick Giglia.
