Els Jelipins is a name without finite definition, instead carrying palpable emotive capabilities for both Gloria and all those whos mouths are graced by her wines. Glòria Garriga is every natural winemaker’s favourite winemaker (talk about LEGEND), she doesn’t own vines but instead has established long-standing relationships with local growers who were willing to work with natural methods before it was CoOL. She is meticulously hands-on and actively involved in every step of the growing and harvesting process. Most of the vines are around 100 years in age, mainly plantings of the staggering sumptuousness of sumoll, with some versatile macabeo (+ herbaceous montònega). FUN FACT! Yearly production is never over 1500 bottles of rosé! Aging is done in terracotta amphora lined with beeswax which adds such a unique textural suppleness, a baby's bottom would be jealous. This rosé is feisty perfection and the wine version of the idea that every perfect perfume has something animalistic and possibly rancid as a key hunk of what distinguishes it as perfection. Shooting stars of acidity, salt dollops, damp grassy field, cactus juice + blossoms, twigs, a new discovered fruit in the middle of the rainforest & panoramic views of Earth from the stratosphere. Do yourself a favour and drink while watching the documentary Empire of Scents by Kim Nguyen.
