The energy of a rosy cheeked truffle hunter, full of hope & knowledge, and always flanked by their most trusted truffle piggy. Winemakers Alex Götze and Christoph Wolber were seemingly destined to meet after being bitten by the irresistible Burgundy-bug. For fans of Enderle & Moll, Wasenhaus Pinot Noir is like the finely elegant chamber music to their nervy and wild garage rock. The grapes are grown on heavy limestone and sandy soils that add unexpected minerality and range to their wines. Fermented in open-top vats and aged in neutral barrels for a year. Then moved to stainless steel for six months to soften the harsher edges and bring forth vibrant red fruits. The texture of crushed velvet with mulled strawberries, blue oyster mushrooms, red plums in clay, forest floor face-plant, smoking underbrush & prickly minerality. Pair with any deer or venison dish, ear muffs & cold evenings in November.
