Beloved and celebrated the world over, it’s time to roll out the red carpet for Nebbiolo from Barolo and Barbaresco in Piemonte (whose hill is bigger?!), and Brunello di Montalcino’s iconic expressions of Sangiovese. Expect powerful, age-worthy reds to sip now, gift to a lucky-duck or stock your cellar from 5 of exceptional producers. We’ll taste & talk about these special wines, producers to know, and some tips and tricks to find really yummy bottles for every day from these celebrated regions. Leave feeling fancy with perfectly stained lips, ready to tackle a thick steak-house wine list!
This session will be led by GW co-founder and one of Toronto's most in demand sommeliers, Krysta Oben who has written the excellent wine lists at Paris Paris, And/ore and beyond and Waterworks GM Alexia David, who comes to us from some of Vancouver's very best restaurants including Michelin-star winning Burdock & Co.

This seated, 75 minute Education Hour takes place in the Waterwork’s East Annex co-working space - a hop, skip and a jump from our gorgeous second location. Enter from Brand or Maud Street and follow the signs. Please note all event tickets are non-refundable.
This event is accessible with easy access parking downstairs and elevators on site. Gender neutral bathrooms are on the parking level. Water and spittoons will be provided. Ample (delicious!) food available to purchase in the hall.
