Max is the 5th generation of winemakers in his family. According to his values, vineyards are worked and harvested only and strictly by hand. The soils are limestone adding flinty minerality and beautiful tension. In order to produce unique, characterful, and expressive wines, grapes are cultivated and cared for according to biodynamic principles. In the cellars, wines are all spontaneously fermented with their own yeast and aged in old large traditional German Stuckfass or high-quality burgundy oak barrels.

Fun fact: Max is part of a close, mutually-inspired circle of friends including other exciting young German winemakers including: Andi Weigand, Bergkloster and Martin Worner aka Marto and La Gamba, all classmates from the famous Geisenheim University!
