A CLASSIC, magnetically mineral, salty and citric, lightly sparkling Basque Country white. The Errasti family make wine in the Getariak region, where their vineyards overlook the Bay of Biscay, and ALSO where they tend to the only txakoli vineyard located within a natural park in the Basque Country. Their proximity to the water means the clay-rich soil is usually damp and humid, therefor the grapes are grown in a ‘parral system’, or they’re raised up from the ground into a canopy as they need to create space for ventilation from the high moisture content. FUN FACT! Getariako Txakoli is the oldest and largest Denominación de Origen (D.O.), and most txakoli exported to North America is from this region! Green-y yellow, like bright fresh herbs in both aroma and colour, with green apple, Meyer lemon sorbet, baking biscuits, lime zest, seaweed & a jaunty effervescence awash in a salty, crystalline minerality. The wine is traditionally poured from high above the glass, sometimes from a porrón, a pitcher that resembles a watering can, and we challenge you to do your very best pour from above and send us a video!
