A succulent, spirited gewürztraminer, overflowing with rich, power. Mathilde and Florian Beck-Hartweg are part of a lineage of caring and talented winemakers spanning hundreds of years; the family winery was founded in 1590 and spans 14 generations! By handling the manual labour themselves, the contact with their vines and soil allows them to stay in tune with the environment’s unstoppable fluctuation and better care for their prized land. The vines reside in Lanzenberg, on granitic, sandy and stony soils. The hand picked grapes are pressed long and without crushing in order to preserve purity, then aged six months on the fine lees until bursting with scents and flavours in every direction. Yellow roses, ginger honey, pear jellies, slate minerality, yellow raisin, fig sap, grapefruit spurts, dried flowers, dried flower texture & finishes feeling dry, not cloying. VERY age-worthy, the already rampant complexity will only increase, or enjoy now with simple desserts like a nice strawberry tart.
