At the northern end of Pfalz in a town called Bockenheim, brothers Daniel and Jonas Brand have been making organic and biodynamic wines with almost no sulphur additions. FUN FACT! Their grandmother, a local artist, draws most of the labels, including this one! And they are supremely kind to their many ANIMALS, which is reason enough to buy something from anyone! They make their ‘Ancestral Orange’ from müller thurgau – the love child of riesling and lesser-known grape madeliene royale (fancy mom!) – and left to hang out on its skins and seeds for max weight and fragrance. The result is a lightning cloud of grilled pineapple skewer, tart apricot, Bam Bam Flintstone’s bespoke wellness line, green papaya salad, pine cone art, grass-stained kneecaps, embarrassing running playlist & strangely zealous handshake. Try it with something extra fermenty – like Korean hot pot with ALL of the banchan.
