Fio Wines is a joint venture between two winemaking dynasties, “Fio” being the “thread” that connect the two — the Kettern family, who have been making wine on the steep slopes of the Mosel for several hundred years, and natural wine superstar (and noted collab lover!) Dirk Niepoort with his son, Daniel. Made with organic viticulture & little to no sulphur, their wines are natural & wild-grown in every sense, with long ferments & no chemical treatments. Made in steel tanks & very old barrels, Piu Piu is a multi-vintage Riesling blend that spent six years on the lees for a powerful, aromatic punch, bottled without fining, filtration or added sulphites. Bracing and fresh with a tinge of colour in the glass , this is like a white fruit punch turned inside-out — tart green apple, white peach, lime pith, pear skin & a pinch sea salt. Pair with crunchy crudités and chimichurri for an instant party pleaser.
