An erudite ‘lil zinger of a Sauv Blanc from longtime Loire vigneron, François Chidaine! Located in the heart of Chenin country in the Cher valley – no relation to the singer! – François works holistically vintage-by-vintage to determine the needs of each wine, here using organic, purchased fruit to deliver truly delicious wines at a steal of a price. But don’t get it twisted, this lean, mean & slightly green white wine delivers on the complexity, while being the easy-drinking springtime crusher we’re always craving. Grapes were hand-harvested, fermented at low temps in tank and aged on the lees prior to bottling. Brisk and light-bodied, crunchy quince, green apple, white linen florals & a squeeze of lemon on some sliced pears. Pair with fennel fronds in the breeze and the romper you’ve been saving for summer.
