Inspired by historical descriptions of Nebbiolo – including a 1606 note from the Italian royal family’s jeweler and a 1787 note by Thomas Jefferson (actually) – this fresh-faced, deep and spicy red draws inspiration from fresher, easy-drinking Nebbiolos made before the rise of full-bodied Barolo. Farmed from younger vines, this was macerated partially whole cluster, almost like a vin nouveau but with lots of ripe, fruity structure.
