An earthy, smoky and lively Chianti that truly is the perfect dad juice (for the dad in all of us). One of GW Imports newest Italian producers, meet La Ginestra! We were instantly charmed by this brimming-with-life estate and their moving, elegant wines. Winemaker and part-owner Dario Nocci works the farm’s 7.5 hectares of vines amidst their sprawling utopia of 130 hectares, which also house livestock, bees, legumes and grains. The sangio grapes are plucked from their vines on clay and alberese (limestone) and split into two tanks, one destemmed and seeing a short skin contact to pull tannin, but not bitterness, the other seeing six days of semi-carbonic maceration to bring their vision of an easy-drinking, but still clearly CHIANTI bottling to life! Treasure chest, MORE tannin, a natural spring of pomegranate juice, orange and brown leaves, orange rind & a gentle mezcal smokiness. Pour alongside a sloppppyyy meatball sub, extra provolone pleeaase.
