For the uninitiated, Pinard et Filles is one of Canada’s buzziest and highly sought-after natural wineries, noteworthy for using rarely-seen hybrid grapes tailor-made for our frigid Nordic climate. Named after the international release of Beaujolais Nouveau celebrated every year in November, Novembre is light, juicy and it’ll stain your lips purple in the most nostalgia-inducing way like a rather-adult Lipsmacker if you’re not careful. With barely-perceptible tannins, it pours a hot Holt Renfrew-magenta in the glass and is texturally not unlike purple lipstick with notes of coronation grape, acai berries, sour cherry & spiced purple popsicle with a soft spritz & low, ripe acid. Treat this glou-glou like a Canadian Lambrusco with salty, snacky things or enjoy by itself with exactly one other person, there simply won’t be enough to go around otherwise.
