A gentle introductory orange for those new to the realm of ochre, terracotta & saffron hued wines. The Château Saint Cyrgues estate is in the south of France, located near the village of St-Gilles, along the southern slopes of the Costières de Nîmes. The estate is over a hundred years old but keeps up with the times dedicated to being a certified organic estate. The luscious and bright grenache blanc is left 2/3 whole bunch and 1/3 destemmed for its ten days on skins, the product being soft tannins that are simply LAUGHING – with you, not AT you silly! Orange blossoms, giant peach minus James, in-season pink lady apple, summer breeze, mineral drips & a little bit of grip, like shaking clammy hands with a small lizard-like amphibian. Try with something SpIcEd, think Moroccan dishes like chicken tagine or Bastilla.
