Moscato, Nizza, Piemonte, Italy

Forget all you think you know about Muscat and give yourself over to the tender ebb and babble of the amphora aged ‘Sette Bianco’. Two old friends – one an oenologist, the other a lawyer – turned winemakers, growing grapes in the Nizza Monferrato region of Piedmont, Italy! This poem from the producers speaks to the vibe of Sette Bianco best –

“Rarefied air. Aniseed… An arctic safari. In a salty desert. Life forms that resemble jellyfish, and like mirrors show us glimpses of our past…”

With 8hrs of glorious skin contact we are getting a gentle face-full of papaya mist, sidewalk purple cornflowers, sunflower seeds, beach shell collection, bottom-of-the-pack tobacco scatterings & a preserved lemon planet whose gravitational pull keeps everything in check. This wine pairs well with buckwheat soba, tuna sashimi, lemongrass tea and watching RuPaul’s Drag Race France.

Barbera, Nizza, Piemonte, Italy

Sette’s Rosato is an herbaceous & savoury, young vine delight. From Barbera heaven, aka Asti, Piedmont, winemakers Gino and Gian Luca are working to show what natural winemaking can produce in a conventionally dominated landscape. The 'Rosato’ is a smoked duck leg meets overgrown rosemary forest, fried sage, red currents & campfire sweater a few days after you’ve returned home. This wine pairs well with chatting some hot goss over a cheese board, wearing sunglasses inside your local café and reading Kitchen Confidential for the second time.

Barbera, Nizza, Piemonte, Italy
A glistening and bold, 100% Barbera, from Nizza, Monferrato, the heart of Italy’s finest Barbera country. Organically grown from 80 year old vines, winemakers Gino and Gian Luca endeavour to do justice to these revered, gnarly gods of wisdom & longevity. Gino explains, “We know we have to produce naked Barbera that explains our terroir, but we have to experiment to find our way”. Flabbergasted by our first tastes of this brand new import, this Barbera is holding hand-pies of inky black cherries in a rosemary graham cracker crust, spruce tip wisps, dusty cabin delirium, sturdy tree root tannins, dark chocolate square & dehydrated satsuma rind. Drink this abundant, merciful Barbera while posing for your first oil portrait or alongside a long bath & a rich beef tartare as the softest landing to the longest day.
