Winemakers Joel Burt and (actor and comedian) Eric Wareheim work exclusively with either tried and true organic farmers or farmers in transition to organic practices. Now on its fourth vintage, Superbloom is a co-ferment of red and white Rhône varieties from a single vineyard – shoutout to the slope-y-schist soils of Love Ranch vineyard in the Sierra Foothills. The blend is expansive, like all the pieces of the jigsaw puzzle comin’ together: 21% spiced mourvèdre, 19% pear-y marsanne, 15% floral roussane, 14% red-berried carignan, 11% rich viognier, 10% candied grenache noir, 7% green-fruited grenache blanc & 3% ancient picpoul blanc grapes in a springtime symphony. One review called this “an ode to fruit carts of LA”, spiced nose, apricot flowers, salted watermelon, rhubarb + strawberry slushy, pink grapefruit rind, kiwi mineral water & underripe pear texture. The winery recommends referring to this as a #NightTimeRosé, we say, consume while the nightingales sing!
