Frank Cornelissen is a buzz word all by himself. Seemingly equal parts enigma, inventor extraordinaire & grape whisperer, this Belgian winemaker fell in love with wine early on and has since dedicated his life to the craft. Choosing the then unknown and deeply beautiful region of Sicily’s Mount Etna, Europe’s largest active volcano. Settling in the North Valley for its overpoweringly unique diversity of volcanic soil, he has produced some of the most memorable bottles to come out of the region. 10 days of skin contact for texture and terroir expression, plus malolactic fermentation fully completed for density, fluidity & stability. Aged in epoxy tank and left unfined and unfiltered, with a touch of sulfur added at bottling. Strawberry/cherry-skin kool aid, lavalicious rock pile, dandelion greens, pepper & hearing Jennifer Coolidge say, “…you look like the fourth of July”. Pour alongside bubble baths & prosciutto sandos.
