A brand new crisp and aromatic offering from our newest Cali producer! Named after her nature-loving grandmother, winemaker Rosalind Reynolds of Emme focuses on minimal to no intervention winemaking, producing negocé wines from her rightful place in a downright hot-bed of new-cali talent! FUN FACT! ‘The Sun Egg’ is a book by Swedish author Elsa Beskow, about an elf who finds an orange in the woods, and one of Rosalind’s favourite stories as a child! Rosalind has worked with this fruit since 2020, but in all previous harvests the vineyard has yielded so little that it made the most sense to blend, however 2023 brought new possibilities! FUN FACT #2! The vineyard owner Aki calls this grape ‘muscat vert’, however Rosalind says, “I am unsure as to whether or not it is truly a muscat, as it lacks the distinctive aromatics I normally associate with the variety. Whatever the variety is, it is unique among the other wines I produce, and I am very happy to share it as its own cuvée for the first time.” We are too! Peaches in honey, wrapped with orange peels galore, pretty and prickling acidity & the generous feeling of sugar (but dry). Enjoy while looking up the etymology of your favourite words and phrases.
