A supple, savoury and simply STUNNING zero-zero Alsatian pinot noir to memorialize. Mathilde and Florian Beck-Hartweg are gifted young winemakers from an Alsatian dynasty, practicing organic farming in a tiny, medieval-looking town that we’d gladly retire in. FUN FACT! Beck-Hartweg is one of THE historic domaines of Alsace, tracing their lineage back to the early 16th century! By handling the manual labour themselves, the contact with their vines and soil allows them to stay in tune with the environment’s unstoppable fluctuation and better care for their prized land. From granitic soils, the 40 year-old pinot noir vines were picked by hand, de-stemmed and left for one week of maceration before eight months in stainless steel to keep the expression ringing true as a bell. A black swan chiffon flounce, tiny, tart red berries, black pepper, red plums, dusty grande staircase, dried herb bundle, underground river minerality and structure & maybe a peck of trapped CO2 to ruffle your tail feathers. Pour alongside researching your family history, flipping through old photo albums or filling your own.
