Over a decade ago, winemaker Francesc Boronat began conversion of his family’s Nulles (population 480 people!) vineyards to organic, a BIG MOVE in an area with no active wineries and grapes historically sold to large cooperatives. So inspired by the place, Fransesc made the brave decision to no longer sell his grapes to the (organic!) co-operative and instead champion his own project. Today Francesc tends the OLD, regional vines his grandfather planted from their home inside a breathing web of forests, wild herbs and hazelnut, almond, orange, olive and carob trees, along side other ancient vineyards, including one stunning plot he first spotted on a run! #movementismagic The rolling chalky slopes of the area are caressed by salty breezes from the nearby Tarragona coast, creating ideal growing conditions for his expressive, precise and tension-filled, low-intervention way of winemaking. Their lineup offers an exploration of Mediterranean possibilities, with a nucleus of aromatics, minerality, texture & concentration.
