Valli Unite

Valli Unite

Piedmont, Italy

Oh how we LOVED touring and chatting with some (of the many!) owners of organic, collectively, worker-owned Valli Unite nestled in the Tuscan hills. First founded in 1981, Valli Unite today is a tight-knit group of 35 people working 100 certified organic hectares in Costa Vescovato, Piedmont. 25 of these hectares are dedicated to vineyards, while the rest are pasture for animals, orchards, beehives, vegetable gardens & woods – that we’ve been told are known to produce a truffle or two! Their heartfelt, honest offerings showcase regional grapes that sprout from their rich, white clay soils and offer us a glimpse into a world of balance and natural fluctuation. In the vineyards they keep additions to an absolute minimum, monitoring the presence of fungi and insects before intervening and using options like orange extracts, copper and bee propolis (from their bees) to treat the vines only when necessary. FUN FACTS! They use solar panels to power the cellar machinery AND used a mixture of temperature regulating earth and straw from their fields to build the cellar itself! We are thrilled to bring these generous, far-reaching and positively delectable cuvees to Ontario, including our first offering of a BAG-IN-A-BOX, which takes the cake for conveninece and lowest carbon footprint! GW stands UNITED with Valli Unite!
